Find a studio whose style resonates with you. Send them a message describing your vision — dimensions, wood species, finish, and timeline.
Design & Quote
The artisan will share sketches, material samples, and a detailed quote. Revisions are welcome until you're fully satisfied.
Approve & Pay
Accept a maker's quote to secure your spot. Many makers split the cost into milestones — you pay the deposit now and the rest as the build ships and you approve it.
Built by Hand
Your piece enters production. The artisan will send progress photos and keep you informed at key milestones.
Delivered to Your Door
Once your piece is complete, it ships within the studio's stated lead time. Large pieces arrive via White Glove freight — placed in the room of your choice.
Common Questions
How long does a custom order take?
Most custom furniture pieces take 6–10 weeks from approved design to delivery. Rush timelines may be available for an additional fee.
What if I change my mind after placing my order?
Minor design changes are usually accommodated free of charge early in production. Because each piece is made to order — with the deposit paid up front and later milestones as it progresses — cancellations after production begins may not be eligible for a full refund, so reach out to the studio as early as possible.
Can I choose my own wood species or finish?
Yes — that's the point of a custom order. Each studio will share available options; some can also source specialty materials on request.
Is a custom piece covered by the return policy?
Custom and made-to-order pieces are non-returnable unless they arrive damaged or defective. We encourage thorough communication during the design phase to ensure you love the result.
